Once a month, Chef Allen brings our very successful Farm-to-Table concept to Coral Gables. You’ll enjoy the freshest, seasonal produce, envisioned and masterfully incorporated into a delicious 5-course, plant-based dinner. This month’s theme is FAMOUS MEALS IN BOOKS and we focus on Marcel Proust‘s In Search of Lost Time.

Marcel Proust was born in the Parisian suburb of Auteuil on July 10, 1871. He began work on In Search of Lost Time sometime around 1908, and the first volume, Swann’s Way, was published in 1913. One of the most famous scenes involves Proust’s narrator involuntarily recalling an episode from his childhood after tasting a madeleine dipped in tea. “No sooner had the warm liquid mixed with the crumbs touched my palate than a shudder ran through me and I stopped, intent upon the extraordinary thing that was happening to me.”

It’s served community-style, so you can meet your neighbors, and strike up a conversation. With the soft sounds of some live music in the background, this is a heavenly and healthy option — once a month — in Coral Gables.
